Artists ConceptThis sculpture is carved from an ancient fallen jarrah trunk, weighting 3 tons found on the Forrest floor in Jarrahdale, South of Perth. As artists, we saw our role primarily to unlock the ancient heritage already existing within the essential fabric of the wood. In this way, the ' Spirit of Timber' has been realised and preserved. Intriguingly, these natural forms, as revealed by the chisel, emerged as an integrated family group, thereby expressing our eternal symbiosis with the Australian bush.
